Body
WHEREAS, Casey Road (County Highway 48) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Casey Road is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the County as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois by and through the Department of Transportation purposes to improve US Route 45 by widening and resurfacing from IL Route 137 to IL Route 120; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of US Route 45 and Casey Road could be improved by the installation of traffic control signals as part of the above-said improvements to US Route 45; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, by prior resolution at its meeting of May 14, 2002 authorized the execution of an agreement between the State of Illinois and Lake County providing for the improvements to the intersection of US Route 45 and Casey Road; and
WHEREAS, the above-said agreement contained a null and void term of expiration of three years, subsequent to execution of said agreement; and
WHEREAS, said term has since passed rendering the aforementioned agreement null and void; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of entering into an addendum to said agreement, said addendum extending the term of expiration of the original agreement to July 1, 2012, a copy of said addendum is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to executed an addendum to said agreement for the improvements to the intersection of US Route 45 and Casey Road, said addendum extending the expiration of the original agreement until July 1, 2012. The County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final addendum to be executed by the Chair of the County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this improvement is designated as Section 02-00262-01-WR.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this addendum, when executed in its final form, be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
