RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Illinois Highway Code (605 ILCS 605 5/5-413) provides for access roads and driveways for public and private use to be allowed onto a County Highway only upon the issuance for a permit by the County Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the County Board of Lake County, Illinois, at its meeting of April 12, 1988, adopted an ordinance dealing with Highway Access Regulation and has revised it from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the County Board may from time to time amend the Fee Schedule of said ordinance; and
WHEREAS, benchmark comparisons of our permit fees to other collar counties was completed; and
WHEREAS, the County Engineer has proposed amendments to the Fee Schedule of said ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the proposed amended Fee Schedule complies with Section 3.11, Fees, of the said ordinance and the detailed information regarding the proposed amendment has been provided in the Staff Summary and Track Changes version of the amendment attached hereto.
WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee and the Financial and Administrative Committee of the County Board have reviewed said proposed amendment to the Fee Schedule of the Lake County Highway Access Regulation Ordinance and have found said amendment to promote the public health, safety, comfort, and general welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County Board of Lake County, Illinois, hereby adopts the Fee Schedule amendment to the Lake County Highway Access Regulation Ordinance, as enumerated in the Track Changes version of the amendment attached hereto, to be effective December 1, 2010.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer publish a codified version of the revised Fee Schedule of the Lake County Highway Access Regulation Ordinance, as provided by said ordinance.
