RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office has been authorized to receive a one-month extension for a SFY25 Grant from the Illinois DHS VPS, for an extended time period of July 1, 2024 through January 31, 2025, in the amount of $20,961; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office will use this funding to further implement its Gun Violence Prevention Initiative through two Gun Violence Therapists, (position numbers 41172 and 41168), and sub-contracting with Waukegan Township to engage direct interruption services; and
WHEREAS, the grant extension must be formally accepted by Lake County and it is necessary to appropriate this grant extension funding; and
WHEREAS, the State’s Attorney’s Office recommends that the Chair of the County Board, the State’s Attorney and the Treasurer be authorized to execute the necessary documents to accept and execute the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the GI-RPSA grant awarded to the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office by the Illinois DHS VPS is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that $20,961 is hereby authorized for the SFY25 GI-RPSA grant program in expenditure and revenue accounts as identified in the attached budget; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the State’s Attorney shall serve as the project director for the program, and accurate records of all necessary grant compliance requirements shall be kept by the State’s Attorney’s Office.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Board, the Lake County State’s Attorney, and the Lake County Treasurer are hereby authorized to execute the necessary documentation in order to accept the grant renewal.
