R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lake County owns and maintains the North Shore Bike Path, within the North Shore right-of-way, as part of the County bike path system; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Libertyville and Lake County believe it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the North Shore right-of-way could be improved by the installation of a drainage swale and storm sewer to reduce flooding; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and the Village of Libertyville are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the terms and conditions for the North Shore right-of-way drainage improvement; and
WHEREAS, 10 percent of the tributary drainage area is attributable to the County-owned North Shore Bike Path; and
WHEREAS, the County will reimburse the Village for its share of the improvement, estimated to be $19,080; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds is necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, are authorized, and are hereby directed to enter into an agreement between Lake County and the Village of Libertyville stating the terms and conditions for the North Shore right-of-way drainage improvement, and such authorization shall include any subsequent amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there is hereby appropriated $25,000 of County Bridge Tax funds, and designated as Section 16-00228-02-BT.
