R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sunset Avenue is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Sunset Avenue from Delaney Road to IL Rte. 131 is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the county as a whole; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County Illinois at its meeting of January 16, 2007 authorized the execution of an agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation for the use of Federal Highway funds for the widening and reconstruction of Sunset Avenue from Delaney Road to IL Rte. 131, said agreement including Phase III engineering services (Construction Engineering); and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois at its meeting of January 16, 2007 authorized the execution of an agreement for consulting engineering services with V3 Companies, Ltd., Woodridge, Illinois, for the provision of Phase III engineering services (Construction Engineering) for the said improvement of Sunset Avenue; and
WHEREAS, during the course of the construction of the said improvement it was necessary to increase the consultant fee to accommodate increased work over that as estimated; and
WHEREAS, said increased fee was processed by the County Engineer as provided by said resolution for the construction engineering contract award and the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance (Change Order No. 1); and
WHEREAS, to enable the county to access the full 80% reimbursement of its expenditures for construction engineering via the said federal funding agreement with IDOT, it is necessary to execute an Amendment No. 1 to the said agreement, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County be authorized and they are directed to execute Amendment No. 1 to the agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation for the use of Federal Highway funds providing for the expanded scope of Phase III engineering services (Construction Engineering) for the above-named improvement. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final amendment to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this amendment when executed in its final form be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
