R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Wadsworth Road, County Highway 17, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of Wadsworth Road and Green Bay Road, IL Route 131, could be improved by widening and resurfacing; and
WHEREAS, the Phase II design engineering needs to be completed for the above-proposed improvement; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, at its meeting of February 12, 2008, authorized the execution of a professional engineering agreement with Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Inc., Rosemont, Illinois, for said professional engineering services and appropriated $600,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for these engineering services; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that additional engineering services are required for revisions to the original scope of work for the above-proposed improvement; as depicted in Exhibit A, attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, a supplemental agreement with the consultant is needed, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute a supplemental agreement and any subsequent amendments thereto as required by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), for consulting engineering services between Lake County and Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Inc., Rosemont, Illinois, for additional Phase II professional engineering services for the intersection improvement of Wadsworth Road at Green Bay Road, IL Route 131, at a supplemental cost of services described of $71,329.93 and designated as Section 03-00033-12-CH. This resolution also appropriates $85,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for these services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution being presented to the County Board for approval, the Public Works and Transportation Committee and the Finance and Administrative Committee, hereby have approved change order #1 described as amendment 1 by IDOT.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final supplemental agreement and any amendments as required by IDOT, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this supplemental agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this supplemental appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 22, 2003.
