                     Illinois Route 132, from Munn Road to Deerpath Drive, Improvement: IDOT Agreement and Appropriation.

                     Illinois Route 132, from Munn Road to Deerpath Drive, will be improved with widening, resurfacing, bicycle and pedestrian accommodations and traffic signal modernization.

                     The County’s portion of this improvement is for the intersections of Illinois Route 132 at Granada Boulevard and Illinois Route 132 at Sand Lake Road, which are within the limits of this improvement.

                     This resolution authorizes the execution of an agreement with the State of Illinois for the intersection improvements and appropriates $25,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the County’s share of these improvements.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, Illinois Route 132, from Munn Road to Deerpath Drive, will be improved with widening, resurfacing, bicycle and pedestrian accommodations and traffic signal modernization; and

 

WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Illinois Route 132, from Munn Road to Deerpath Drive, is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the County as a whole; and

 

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public to reconstruct Illinois Route 132, from Munn Road to Deerpath Drive; and

 

WHEREAS, the County’s portion of this improvement is the intersections of Illinois Route 132 at Granada Boulevard and Illinois Route 132 at Sand Lake Road, which are within the limits of this improvement; and

 

WHEREAS, the IDOT and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement for said improvement, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement for the improvement of the intersections of Illinois Route 132 at Granada Boulevard and Illinois Route 132 at Sand Lake Road, and such authorization shall include any subsequent amendments.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk, and grant plan and specification approval to IDOT.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $25,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the County’s share of this improvement, and designated as Section 14-00279-02-TL, and State Job No. C-91-004-13.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the IDOT in accordance with the “Agreement of Understanding” between the IDOT and Lake County, dated January 18, 2013.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this agreement, when executed in its final form, be submitted to the IDOT for their approval and final processing.
