R E S O L U T I O N
 
WHEREAS, Petite Lake Road, County Highway 51, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
 
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Petite Lake Road is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the County as a whole; and
 
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Petite Lake Road could be improved, from Illinois Route 59 to Fairfield Road, by reconstruction and widening; and
 
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a firm be employed to provide professional services for Phase II design engineering services; and
 
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm, Civiltech Engineering Inc., Itasca, Illinois, in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, for the reconstruction and widening of Petite Lake Road, from Illinois Route 59 to Fairfield Road.
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that Civiltech Engineering Inc., Itasca, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase II design engineering services at a maximum cost of services described as $312,726, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized, and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County, an agreement and any subsequent amendments hereto, for consultant engineering services between Lake County and Civiltech Engineering Inc., Itasca, Illinois.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.  
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $380,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for these engineering services designated as Section 10-00181-05-RS.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action, provided the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this appropriation be processed by the County Engineer for final approval of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the "Agreement of Understanding" between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Lake County, dated January 22, 2003.
