                     John C. Lagorio, record owner, has petitioned to rezone a 4.62 acres parcel from the Open Space (OS) zoning district to the Rural Estate (RE) zoning district. The property is located in Libertyville Township at 30128 N Saint Mary’s Road, Libertyville, Illinois (PIN 11-11-300-016).

                     The Zoning Board of Appeals held a public hearing on May 14, 2026, and unanimously recommended approval of the rezoning request.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals on May 14, 2026, pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Illinois on the petition of John C. Lagorio, record owner, which seeks rezoning of a 4.6 acre parcel (PIN 11-11-300-016) from the Open Space (OS) zoning district to the Rural Estate (RE) zoning district for the following real estate, legally described as follows:

That part of the west half of the southwest quarter of Section 11, Township 44 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, Lake County, Illinois, described as follows: commencing at the northwest corner of the south half of the southwest quarter of said Section 11; thence south 417.46 feet along the west line of the south half of the southwest quarter of said Section 11 to the point of beginning; thence commencing south 394.71 feet along the west line of the south half of the southwest quarter of said Section 11; thence east 487.42 feet, parallel, to the north line of the south half of the southwest quarter of said Section 11, to a point on the centerline of St. Mary’s Rd.; thence northeasterly 416.02 feet along said centerline; thence west 616.19 feet, parallel to the north line of the south half of the southwest quarter of said Section 11, to the point of beginning, containing in all 5.000 acres, more or less; and

 

WHEREAS, your Department of Planning, Building and Development duly considered the aforesaid petition and recommends that it be approved; and

 

WHEREAS, your Zoning Board of Appeals, after reviewing the testimony presented at the public hearing conducted on May 14, 2026 on the aforesaid petition, has determined the proposed rezoning meets the Standards for a Map Amendment Approval contained in Section 151.047 (G)(2) of the Lake County Illinois Code of Ordinances and the Zoning Board of Appeals has submitted its report thereon to the Planning, Building, Zoning and Environmental Committee of the County Board, and its report recommends by a vote of 5-0 that the petition be approved; and

 

WHEREAS, your Planning, Building, Zoning and Environmental Committee duly considered the petition and reports aforedescribed and recommends the petition be granted.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that PIN 11-11-300-016 (a.k.a. 30128 N Saint Mary’s Road, Libertyville, Illinois) be rezoned from the Open Space (OS) zoning district to the Rural Estate (RE) zoning district; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary of said Zoning Board of Appeals be instructed to notify the petitioners as to the action taken by the Board.
