R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by this Lake County Board and the Newport Township Road District Highway Commissioner, the Acting County Engineer heretofore called for sealed bids, by publication, for resurfacing and patching in Newport Township Road District, and designated as Section 17-11112-00-GM; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said publication and calling for said bids, sealed bids were received and opened on July 18, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lake County Division of Transportation in Libertyville, Illinois, a tabulation of said bids being as follows:

WHEREAS, the Public Works and Transportation Committee, the Acting County Engineer and the Purchasing Agent have examined each bid, and it appears that the lowest responsible bidder is Peter Baker and Son Company, Lake Bluff, Illinois, their bid being $102,714.52, based on estimated quantities and unit prices; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that a contract be awarded to said Peter Baker and Son Company, Lake Bluff, Illinois, in accordance with their bid of $102,714.52, based on estimated quantities and unit prices, and that the Purchasing Agent, the County Clerk, and the Acting County Engineer of Lake County be authorized and they are hereby directed to enter into a contract with said low bidder for the resurfacing and patching in Newport Township Road District, and designated as Section 17-11112-00-GM.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in as much as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time, these quantities may be added to, deducted from, or modified from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with Chapter 605 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 and Section 6-701.1 without further Board action.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this award is subject to the approval of the Newport Township Road District Highway Commissioner.
