Staff Summary
·      The current contract for entry screening and security services expires on December 20, 2013.
·      The County contracts with a firm to provide entry screening, overnight security services and mail screening for the courthouse and general security services for the Health Department and Workforce Development.
·      A request for proposal (RFP) was sent to 16 vendors, and proposals were received from six vendors.
·      Based on the criteria set forth in the RFP for Entry Screening & Security Services, it has been determined that the proposal submitted by US Securities Associates is the most favorable for Lake County.
·      The contract authorizes the purchasing agent to enter into a two-year agreement with three additional one-year renewal options that will cost the County an estimated annual amount of $1,052,113.44 to be paid from various Lake County accounts.
 
Body
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 5-102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, proposals were called for by publication for Entry Screening and Security Services; and
 
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, Request for Proposals were extended to 16 vendors; and
 
WHEREAS, sealed proposals were received from six vendors and opened in the Central Permit Facility, Libertyville, Illinois, on July 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.; and
 
WHEREAS, based on the criteria set forth in the Request for Proposals, and Evaluation Committee selected US Securities Associates to be in the best interest of Lake County.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a contract with US Securities Associates, Tinley Park, IL, in the estimated annual amount of $1,052,113.44 for Entry Screening and Security Services, charging the costs to various Lake County accounts.
