Staff Summary

·      IDOT is making improvements to the intersection at Illinois Route 59 and Petite Lake Road.

·      IDOT desires a permanent easement (0.055 acres) and a temporary easement (0.0042 acres) on County property at the Petite Lake Road Pump Station to widen the roadway.

·      In consideration of these easements, IDOT agrees to pay the County an amount of $9,300.

·      A review of the value of the easements was made by the County Assessor's Office and the proposed price is deemed reasonable.

·      This resolution authorizes the execution of agreements with the IDOT for a permanent easement and a temporary easement on the Petite lake Road Pump Station property at Illinois Route 59 and Petite Lake Road.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is making improvements to the intersection of Illinois Route 59 and Petite Lake Road; and

WHEREAS, the IDOT desires a permanent easement and a temporary easement on the County property at the Petite Lake Road Pump Station in order to widen the roadway; and

WHEREAS, in consideration of these two easements the IDOT agrees to pay the County in the amount of $9,300; and

WHEREAS, a Permanent Easement Agreement and a Temporary Easement Agreement have been prepared which set forth the rights, responsibilities and obligations of each party; and

WHEREAS, execution of a permanent easement agreement and a temporary easement agreement must be authorized by resolution of the County Board.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Lake County Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached agreements with the Illinois Department of Transportation, in the form substantially contained therein, for a Permanent Easement and a Temporary Easement on the Petite Lake Road Pump Station property at Illinois Route 59 and Petite Lake Road.
