•                     This resolution authorizes the execution of an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Lake Forest and appropriate $650,000 of the ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety Fund.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Western Avenue and Woodland Road are secondary arterial roads within the City of Lake Forest; and

WHEREAS, in order to ensure the free flow of traffic and the safety and welfare of the motoring public, the City of Lake Forest and Lake County are desirous of improving the intersection of  Western Avenue and Woodland Road by widening and realignment of the intersection and the installation of permanent traffic control devices; and

                     WHEREAS, Lake County and the City of Lake Forest are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the terms and conditions for said improvements to Western Avenue and Woodland Road, a draft copy of which is attached hereto. 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, are authorized, and are hereby directed to enter into an agreement between Lake County and the City of Lake Forest stating the terms and conditions for the improvements to the intersection of Western Avenue and Woodland Road.  The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.

                     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there is hereby appropriated $650,000 of the ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety Funds for this improvement and designated as Section 09-00931-00-CH.
