                     East Old Rollins Road Frontage Road, Jurisdictional Transfer: Lake County to Grant Township Road District.

                     The Old Rollins Road frontage road east of Squaw Creek will be removed from the County Highway System and transferred to the Grant Township Road District.

                     This section is from Rollins Road, east of Squaw Creek and west of Wilson Rd, northwesterly approximately 290 feet, in its entirety.

                     This jurisdictional transfer is effective upon IDOT approval.

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, Rollins Road, County Highway 31, has been relocated at Squaw Creek west of Wilson Road, County Highway 7, causing a frontage road known as Old Rollins Road, and as depicted on the map attached as Addendum 1, to be established using a portion of original location of Rollins Road; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to 605 ILCS 5/5-107, the county board, by the process established by law, may transfer road jurisdiction to another highway authority for any portion of the original location not incorporated into the new location; and

 

WHEREAS, by previous resolution, this Lake County Board has changed the name of said frontage road to Old Rollins Road as depicted on the map attached hereto as Addendum 1 to the agreement attached hereto; and

 

WHEREAS, Lake County and Grant Township Road District are desirous of entering into an agreement for the jurisdictional transfer of east Old Rollins Road frontage road, east of Squaw Creek and west of Wilson Road, from Rollins Road northwesterly approximately 290 feet, in its entirety from Lake County to the Grant Township Road District, as depicted in the draft of agreement attached hereto; and

 

WHEREAS, with this jurisdictional transfer, which shall be effective upon Illinois Department of Transportation, IDOT, approval, Lake County is removing the east Old Rollins Road frontage road, County Highway 31, east of Squaw Creek and west of Wilson Rd, from Rollins Road northwesterly approximately 290 feet, in its entirety, from the Lake County Highway System.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer are hereby authorized and directed to process and execute any and all appropriate and related agreements with Grant Township Road District for said jurisdictional transfer.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said jurisdictional transfer is effective upon the Illinois Department of Transportation approval.
