R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gilmer Road, County Highway 26, is a designated route on the county highway system and in the Illinois Route 120 corridor; and
WHEREAS, for the free flow of traffic at the intersection of Gilmer Road and Illinois Route 120, and such adjacent intersections as appropriate, is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the County as a whole; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the Unified Vision for Illinois Route 120 was an improved intersection of Gilmer Road and Illinois Rte 120; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a firm be employed to provide Phase I preliminary engineering services for the said improvement; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.; and
WHEREAS, TranSystems Corporation, Schaumburg, Illinois, are consulting engineers skilled in the provision of said Phase I preliminary engineering services.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that TranSystems Corporation, Schaumburg, Illinois, be employed to provide said Phase I preliminary engineering services, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute, on behalf of Lake County, an agreement for Phase I preliminary engineering services between Lake County and TranSystems Corporation, Schaumburg, Illinois, for the Gilmer Road and Illinois 120 intersection improvement as part of the Illinois 120 Unified Vision Plan; a draft copy of which is attached hereto, and such authorization shall include any necessary subsequent amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $2,245,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety funds for these Phase I preliminary engineering services, and designated as Section 08-00073-08-CH.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2, of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations provided.
