                     21st Street and Russell Road Retaining Wall Phase II Engineering Services: Consultant Agreement and Appropriation

                     There is a retaining wall on 21st Street situated 150 feet east of Delany Road and a second retaining wall on Russell Road situated 250 feet west of Lewis Avenue.

                     Each of these retaining walls are in poor condition and are in need of maintenance and repairs.

                     Lake County has a satisfactory working relationship with McClure Engineering Associates, Inc., Waukegan, Illinois, under the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act.

                     This resolution authorizes the execution of professional services agreement with McClure Engineering Associates Inc., Waukegan, Illinois for Phase II engineering services and appropriates $85,000 of Matching Tax funds for these services.

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, 21st Street   (County Highway 67) and Russell Road (County Highway 19) are designated routes on the county highway system; and

 

WHEREAS, there is a retaining wall on 21st Street situated 150 feet east of Delany Road and a second retaining wall on Russell Road situated 250 feet west of Lewis Avenue; and 

 

WHEREAS, each of these retaining walls are in poor condition and are in need of maintenance and repairs in order to prevent failure;  and

 

                     WHEREAS, it is advisable that a firm be employed to provide professional services to determine appropriate maintenance and repair strategies  for said retaining walls; and

 

WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation has selected a professional engineering services firm, McClure Engineering Associates, Inc., Waukegan, Illinois,  in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, for said maintenance and repairs to these retaining walls.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that McClure Engineering Associates, Inc., Waukegan, Illinois,  be employed to provide professional services for the maintenance and repairs of said retaining walls along 21st Street and Russell Road and that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute, on behalf of Lake County, a contract for the provision of said engineering services for the maintenance and repairs of said retaining walls between Lake County and McClure Engineering Associates, Inc., Waukegan, Illinois. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.  

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $85,000 of Matching Tax funds for these engineering services designated as Section 09-00999-08-GM.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated herein does not exceed the appropriation aforesaid.
