RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Department of Public Works provides drinking water service to numerous communities including the Countryside Manor subdivision; and
WHEREAS, the water main located within the western portion of the subdivision is at the end of its useful life; and
WHEREAS, the most economical and efficient method to maintain reliable service is to replace approximately 7,000 feet of water main within the subdivision; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, bids were called for by publication of the Countryside Manor Watermain Replacement Project; and
WHEREAS, Berger Contractors, Inc. is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $2,226,344.85.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Berger Contractors, Inc. of Wauconda, Illinois in the amount of $2,226,344.85 for the Countryside Manor Water Main Improvement Project.
