Staff Summary
· On August 14, 2012, the Lake County Board authorized a contract with KJWW Engineering Consultants, Chicago, IL for the modification and replacement of the building ventilation system in the Lake County Administrative Tower in the amount of $100,350.
· KJWW provided the initial architectural and engineering specifications needed to submit for pricing through the Job Order Contracting (JOC) construction services.
· To provide a comparative analysis between JOC pricing and traditional competitive bidding additional engineering services are needed for detailed product specifications, bid preparation and analysis, and construction administration services.
· Amendment No. 1 increases the dollar amount by $26,500, increasing the previous contract amount from $100,350 to a total of $126,850.
· In accordance with of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance it is hereby requested that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to Lake County Agreement #12172.

RE: Contract Modification Agreement #12172
1. On August 14, 2012, the Lake County Board authorized a contract with KJWW Engineering Consultants, Chicago, IL for the modification and replacement of the building ventilation system in the Lake County Administrative Tower in the amount of $100,350.
2. This amendment increases the dollar amount of the Agreement #12172 by $26,500, increasing the total from $100,350 to $126,850.
3. KJWW provided the initial architectural and engineering specifications needed to submit for pricing through the Job Order Contracting (JOC) construction services.
4. To provide a comparative analysis between JOC pricing and traditional competitive bidding additional engineering services are needed for detailed product specifications, bid preparation and analysis, and construction administration services.
5. In accordance with Article 8, Section 101(1) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, it is hereby requested that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to execute Amendment #1 to Lake County Agreement #12172.
6. This change order will cost the County an amount not-to-exceed $126,850; as originally approved, $100,350 will be charged to account number 101-1103285-71180-000-000-000-11612 and the change order amount of $26,500 will be charged to account number 101-1103285-71180-000-000-000-11612.
