R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Everett Road (County Highway 52) and Deerfield Road (County Highway 11) are designated routes on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the Everett Road bridge over the I-94 Tollway is in need of repair and resurfacing; and
WHEREAS, the Deerfield Road bridge over the I-94 Tollway requires expansion joint inspection and a recommendation for repairs; and
WHEREAS, the Phase I (preliminary engineering) and Phase II (design engineering) need to be completed for the Everett Road bridge over the I-94 Tollway; and
WHEREAS, the Phase I (preliminary engineering) needs to be completed for the Deerfield Road bridge over the I-94 Tollway; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a firm be employed to provide professional engineering services for the deck repair, resurfacing, inspection and repair recommendation of said bridges; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, has selected a professional engineering services firm, MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, for said deck repair, resurfacing, inspection and repair recommendation on the said bridges.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, be employed to provide professional services for the design of the above-said improvement, and that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute a contract, on behalf of Lake County, a draft copy of which is attached hereto, for the provision of said engineering services for the Everett Road at the I-94 Tollway bridge for deck repair and resurfacing, and the Deerfield Road at the I-94 Tollway bridge for inspection and repair recommendation, at a maximum cost of services described as $144,240. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $175,000 of County Bridge Tax funds for this improvement designated as Section 12-00123-06-RS.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriations provided.
