• The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority recently announced that the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit was awarded $85,000 in Juvenile Accountability Block Grant funds to continue the juvenile probation pre-employment program that began in late 2009.
• The Nineteenth Judicial Circuit will provide a 10% match of $9,444 from the Probation Services Fee Fund.
• The grant will be used to continue funding a part-time position to serve as program coordinator, to provide a job readiness curriculum to approximately 60 youth and to contract with local agencies and employers to provide approximately 26 youth with paid internships. Supplies and bus passes are also included in the budget.

WHEREAS, the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority recently announced that the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit was awarded $85,000 in Juvenile Accountability Block Grant funds to continue the juvenile probation pre-employment program that began in late 2009; and
WHEREAS, the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit will provide a 10% match of $9,444 from the Probation Services Fee Fund; and
WHEREAS, the funding will be used to continue funding a part-time position to serve as program coordinator, to provide a job readiness curriculum to approximately 60 youth and to contract with local agencies and employers to provide approximately 26 youth with paid internships as well as for supplies and bus passes; and
WHEREAS, the County Board must authorize the execution of a program agreement and an emergency appropriation of $94,444 to accept this grant and continue the juvenile pre-employment program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board authorizes an emergency appropriation with offsetting revenue in the amount of $94,444 per the attached chart of accounts for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Juvenile Pre-employment Program; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a line item transfer in the amount of $9,444 from 250-3210010-79940 to 250-3210010-79920 and an interfund transfer from account 250-3210010-79920 to account 101-3260010-49920-000-000-000-00000 in the amount of $9,444 are also authorized; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Board Chairman is authorized to execute Program Agreement #508302 with the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority to accept this grant funding.
