RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Midlothian Road (County Highway 48) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, by prior resolution of this County Board of Lake County Illinois, Midlothian Road has been extended northerly from Peterson Road to the approximate entrance of the Lake County Fairgrounds; and
WHEREAS, Lake County now desires to extend Midlothian Road from its existing northerly terminus northerly to Harris Road; and
WHEREAS, the design engineering for this second extension of Midlothian Road to Harris Road has been partially completed by Spaceco, Inc., Rosemont, Illinois, for a proposed but now canceled private development of an adjacent parcel; and
WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation proposes to proceed with the extension of Midlothian Road from its existing northerly terminus to Harris Road; and
WHEREAS, Lake County has a satisfactory working relationship with Spaceco, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation proposes to employ Spaceco, Inc., Rosemont, Illinois, to complete their design work for said extension of Midlothian Road.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, that Spaceco, Inc., Rosemont, Illinois, be employed to provide professional service for said extension of Midlothian Road from its existing northerly terminus northerly to Harris Road and that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, are authorized and they are hereby directed to execute on behalf of Lake County the contract for the provision of professional design engineering services between Lake County and Spaceco, Inc., Rosemont, Illinois. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement to be executed by the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $50,000 of Matching Tax funds and $140,000 of the ¼ % Sales Tax for Transportation and Public Safety Tax funds for this improvement designated as Section 09-00244-03-FP.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated herein does not exceed the appropriation aforesaid.
