Resolution setting the compensation for County Board Members and the Chair of the County Board.
Staff Summary
· Per State Statute, the County Board sets the compensation for elected officials no less than six months before those officials take office.
· At this time, it is necessary to set the compensation for Members of the County Board that will be elected for the years 2011 and 2012 and the Chairman of the County Board for the years 2011 and 2012.
Body
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall fix the salaries of the Members of the County Board; and
WHEREAS, the County Board may establish additional compensation for the Chair of the County Board; and
WHEREAS, Illinois Law provides that the County Board shall set the compensation for elected officials no less than six months before those officials take office; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to set the compensation for the Members of the County Board with two (2) year terms for the years 2011 and 2012; and
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to set the additional compensation for the Chair of the County Board for the years 2011 and 2012; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of your Financial and Administrative Committee that the compensation set forth below for the respective elected office holders be approved by this County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the annual salary for the County Board Members elected on November 2, 2010, shall be as follows for the years indicated:
For the Year 2011: $ 40,945 per annum
For the Year 2012: $ 40,945 per annum
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amount of additional annual salary for the Chair of the County Board shall be as follows for the years indicated:
For the Year 2011: $ 40,945 per annum
For the Year 2012: $ 40,945 per annum
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT THE Chair of the County Board shall be provided an auto allowance as follows for the years indicated:
For the Year 2011: $ 500 per month
For the Year 2012: $ 500 per month
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chair of the County Board shall be provided a stipend for serving as the Liquor Commissioner as follows for the years indicated:
For the Year 2011: $ 3,000 per annum
For the Year 2012: $ 3,000 per annum
