Joint resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) for renewed contractual police services between the Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and the Village of Long Grove (Long Grove) from May 1, 2021, to April 30, 2024, in the amount of $2,128,357.75.
Staff Summary
• The LCSO has provided police services to Long Grove for 16 years.
• Long Grove and the LCSO have agreed on terms to continue the police services contract for an additional three-year period from May 1, 2021 through April 30, 2024.
• The contract includes a continuation of current services for two, 8.5 hour shifts per day, for a total of 17 hours per day, every day of the year.
• The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Lake County Finance Department and the Lake County Risk Department have reviewed and approved this renewal contract.
• Long Grove will reimburse 100 percent of the cost of the two contracted deputy positions for all three years.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Village of Long Grove has requested that the Sheriff continue to provide police services to the said Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Long Grove has requested the continuation of police services for two 8.5 hours shifts per day for a total of 17 hours per day, every day of the year; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff has negotiated an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village relative to providing said services.
WHEREAS, the County and the Village are proposing that the renewal rate for policing services will be:

The monthly installment is due on the fifteenth day of each month, beginning in May; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the Board and the Sheriff are hereby authorized to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village of Long Grove for the purpose of continuing to provide police services in the Village, effective May 1, 2021; revenue shall be received in account #101-3001110-45380 Revenue from Municipalities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Village of Long Grove and the Lake County Sheriff.
