Staff Summary
· St. Mary's Road Extension (County Highway 41A): Deletion from the County Highway System.
· St. Mary's Road is currently designated as a County highway, from Everett Road to a point approximately 900 feet south, in the Wright Woods Forest Preserve.
· Lake County is desirous of deleting this section of St. Mary's Road from the County highway system.
· This resolution deletes this designated section of St. Mary's Road from the County highway system, and provides that the necessary approvals be requested from the IDOT.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, St. Mary's Road, currently designated by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) as County Highway 41, is currently designated as a County highway (County Highway 41A) from Everett Road (County Highway 52) to a point approximately 900 feet south, as generally depicted on the map attached as Exhibit A to this resolution by action of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Lake acting at its meeting of April 9, 1964, "as an entrance to the Lake County Forest Preserve"; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Forest Preserve District owns all of the property on both sides of the said section of St. Mary's Road, and has assumed ownership and maintenance of the entrance driveway, from Everett Road to the Lake County Forest Preserve, now known as Wright Woods Forest Preserve; and
WHEREAS, Lake County is desirous of making changes to the County highway system in accordance with the provisions of 605 ILCS 5/5-105, by the deletion of this section of St. Mary's Road, from Everett Road to a point approximately 900 feet south; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that St. Mary's Road (County Highway 41A), from Everett Road to a point approximately 900 feet south, be deleted from the County highway system of Lake County in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Illinois Highway Code and as approved by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk and the Chair of the Lake County Board and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and are hereby directed to prepare and transmit whatever information IDOT determines is necessary to document the deletion from the County highway system of St. Mary's Road (County Highway 41A), from Everett Road to a point approximately 900 feet south in accordance with the provisions of 605 ILCS 5/5-105 and other applicable provisions of the Illinois Highway Code.
