R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gages Lake Road (County Highway 34) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, Warren Township High School District 121 owns certain real estate located along Gages Lake Road (County Highway 34) in unincorporated Lake County which has been developed for use as a high school; and
WHEREAS, the campus buildings and facilities for the said high school are being expanded, and
WHEREAS, a new ingress and egress from the high school to Gages Lake Rd will be built opposite Mill Road, and
WHEREAS, new traffic control signals and equipment with interconnect, combination poles for street lights and emergency vehicle pre-emption system will be installed by the school district at the rebuilt intersection; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic at the intersection of Gages Lake Road (County Highway 34) and Mill Road is beneficial to the safety and welfare of Warren Township High School District 121 and the County as a whole; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and Warren Township High School District 121 are desirous of entering into an agreement for the installation and maintenance of the proposed traffic signals at the intersection of Gages Lake Road (County Highway 34) and Mill Road, including interconnect, combination poles for street lights and an emergency vehicle pre-emption system, a draft copy of which is attached hereto setting forth the terms and obligations to each entity; and
WHEREAS, the said interconnect will be to the existing traffic control signals and equipment at the intersection of Gages Lake Road and Almond Road (County Highway 81).
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, that the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, be authorized, and they are hereby directed to execute a master agreement, and any subsequent amendments thereto, pertaining to the installation and maintenance of the above-said traffic control signals at the intersection of Gages Lake Road and Mill Road. The County Engineer shall transmit in writing the final agreement and any subsequent amendments to be executed by the Chair of the County Board and the County Clerk.
