· This resolution authorizes the execution of an agreement for the railroad crossing work and the reimbursement to Metra.
· The appropriation for these funds is included in the Winchester Road improvement construction appropriation.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Winchester Road, County Highway 69, is a designated route on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, Winchester Road is in need of left turn lanes, east bound into the west County access road and west bound into Butler Lake Park, and a barrier median at the Metra tracks; and
WHEREAS, this improvement will also require Metra to perform work at the railroad crossing at an estimated cost of $458,730; and
WHEREAS, Lake County will reimburse Metra for the cost of this work; and
WHEREAS, appropriation for these funds is included in the Winchester Road improvement construction appropriation; and
WHEREAS, Lake County and Metra are desirous of entering into an agreement stating the current terms and conditions by which Lake County will reimburse Metra for said construction work, a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County, Illinois, are authorized and they are hereby directed to execute an agreement and any subsequent amendments, between Lake County and Metra, Chicago, Illinois, stating the terms and conditions by which Lake County will reimburse Metra, Chicago, Illinois, for the completion of construction for the Winchester Road improvement in consideration of the estimated sum of $458,730.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement and any amendments to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.
