Staff Summary
·      On December 8, 2009, the Lake County Board authorized a contract with HDR Architecture, Inc. of Chicago, IL for engineering services for the replacement of the fire alarm system for the Courts Complex in the amount of $121,000.
·      HDR Architecture, Inc. provided code review and design services, production of construction bidding documents, bidding assistance and construction administrative services.
·      The Lake County Board approved the replacement of the fire alarm system for the Administrative Tower and Courts Complex, Coroner's Office, and LCDOT on June 11, 2013.
·      Updates to background base plans that were modified for the ongoing renovation projects since the original contract was originally awarded necessitated the change order to complete the replacement project and was germane to the original contract as signed.
·      Amendment No. 1 increases the dollar amount by $28,000, increasing the previous contract amount from $121,000 to a total of $149,000.
·      In accordance with of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance it is hereby requested that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to Lake County Agreement #90185.

1.      On December 8, 2009, the Lake County Board authorized a contract with HDR Architecture, Inc., Chicago, IL for engineering services for the replacement of the fire alarm system for the Courts Complex in the amount of $121,000.
2.      This amendment increases the dollar amount of the Agreement #90185 by $28,000, increasing the total from $121,000 to $149,000.
3.      HDR provided code review, design services, production of construction bidding documents, bidding assistance and construction administrative services.
4.      Updates to background base plans that were modified for the ongoing renovation projects since the original contract was originally awarded necessitated the change order to complete the replacement project and was germane to the original contract as signed.
5.      In accordance with Article 8, Section 101(1) of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, it is hereby requested that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to execute Amendment #1 to Lake County Agreement #90185.
6.  This change order will cost the County an amount not-to-exceed $149,000; as originally approved, $121,000 will be charged to account number #101-1103285-71150 and the change order amount of $28,000 will be charged to account number 101-1103285-71150.
