Staff Summary

                     2017 PASSAGE Field Elements Design: Consultant Agreement and Appropriation.

                     The Phase II design engineering services will install conduit and fiber optic along US Route 45 and along Hawley Street in Mundelein to connect additional traffic signals and PTZ cameras to the Lake County PASSAGE system.

                     A consulting engineering firm will be utilized to provide Phase II design engineering services for this improvement.

                     In accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, the selected and recommended consultant is Hampton, Lenzini & Renwick, Inc., of Elgin, Illinois, at a maximum cost of services of $52,302.38.

                     The resolution also appropriates $65,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these engineering services.

R E S O L U T I O N

 

WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its PASSAGE Program, endeavors to interconnect traffic control signal systems situated throughout Lake County; and

  

WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, plans to install conduit and fiber optic along US Route 45 and along Hawley Street in Mundelein to connect additional traffic signals and PTZ cameras to the Lake County PASSAGE system; and

 

WHEREAS, it is advisable that a professional engineering services firm be employed to provide Phase II design engineering services; and

 

WHEREAS, Lake County has selected a professional engineering services firm, Hampton, Lenzini, & Renwick, Inc., of Elgin, Illinois, in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, for said design engineering services. 

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that Hampton, Lenzini, & Renwick, Inc., of Elgin, Illinois, be employed to provide professional engineering services to install conduit and fiber optic along US Route 45 and along Hawley Street in Mundelein to connect additional traffic signals and PTZ cameras to the Lake County PASSAGE system, and that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute, on behalf of Lake County, a contract and any subsequent amendments, a draft of which is attached hereto, for the provision of said professional engineering services between Lake County and Hampton, Lenzini, & Renwick, Inc., of Elgin, Illinois, at a maximum cost of services of $52,302.38.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk.  

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated $65,000 of ¼% Sales Tax for Transportation funds for these engineering services, and designated as Section 17-00268-16-TL.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement be administered in accordance with Chapter 605, Act 5, Section 5-205.2 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes without further Board action, providing the final contract cost chargeable under the funds appropriated does not exceed the appropriation.
