R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Washington Street, County Highway 45, and Old McHenry Road, County Highway 32, are designated routes on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, Lake County proposes to improve the intersections of Washington Street at the E & W ramps to US Route 41, and Old McHenry Road at Midlothian Road, unmarked state highway, by modernization of the existing traffic control signals including installing LED and Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS); and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois will utilize highway funding to reimburse the County for its proportionate share by jurisdiction on approach leg of the construction and engineering cost for this improvement; and
WHEREAS, the County portion of said improvement is for the prorated local share by jurisdiction on approach leg; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County are desirous of entering into an agreement for said improvements; a draft copy of which is attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer of Lake County are authorized and they are directed to execute on behalf of Lake County an agreement for the improvement at the intersections of Washington Street at the E & W ramps to US Route 41, and Old McHenry Road at Midlothian Road, unmarked state highway, and such authorization shall include any subsequent amendments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer shall transmit, in writing, the final agreement, and any subsequent amendments, to be executed by the County Board Chair and the County Clerk and grant plan and specification approval to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this agreement, when executed in its final form, be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their approval and final processing.
