Body
WHEREAS, the Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC) of Lake County has been approved for a one-time grant totaling $50,000 from the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County to provide additional funding assistance to veteran's of Lake County for dental services; and
WHEREAS, the VAC of Lake County currently provides general assistance to veterans through its budgeted Assistance to Veterans account; and
WHEREAS, additional funding is necessary to meet the demonstrated need for dental services for Lake County veterans; and
WHEREAS, the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County has extended a one-time grant agreement through November 20, 2012 to assist with this need, with no requirement of matching county funds; and
WHEREAS, the VAC has established guidelines for the proper distribution of funds and payment of dental services; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation is necessary to formally accept this grant agreement for $50,000 associated with Revenue Account 208-3700010-45333-000-000-000-00000 and Expense Account 208-3700010-71340-000-000-000-00000; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that the acceptance and execution of a one-time $50,000 grant agreement through November 20, 2012 by the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County grant to the Lake County Veterans Assistance Commission is hereby approved to provide additional assistance to veteran's of Lake County for dental services; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Veterans Assistance Commission shall serve as project director for the program, and accurate records of all necessary grant compliance requirements shall be maintained by the Veterans Assistance Commission.
