Staff Summary

•                     The University of Illinois will conduct a risk assessment of 96 structures within the lower 10 miles of Nippersink Creek (in Fox Lake and unincorporated Spring Grove, Grant Township, Lake County, IL), gathering data on flood hazard, frequency, and depth to prioritize future mitigation actions.

•                     On July 9, 2024 SMC entered into a grant agreement with IEMA to develop and implement the Nippersink Creek Structure Specific Risk Assessment Project and an Emergency Appropriation was authorized for $41,043.83 which is the federal contribution, and $12,826.28 is the non-federal contribution which SMC will provide in cash and in-kind services.
