Title: Sheriff’s Office Merit Commission

Purpose/Function: The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Merit Commission is charged with the screening of all applicants for the appointment to the office of Deputy Sheriff. Also, administer written examinations for promotion within the Department, conduct disciplinary hearings on charges brought before the Commission, and other administrative duties.

Term of members/trustees: Three years; six years after expiration of original term.
