Resolution providing for the appointment of W. Paul Mazzeno, as Manager of Lake County’s Emergency Management Agency and to serve in the coordinator role as required by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, a nationwide search was conducted using internal resources as well as a search consultant to fill the vacant position of the Lake County Emergency Management Manager; and
WHEREAS, a selection committee was formed to conduct interviews with representatives from the Sheriff’s Office, Health Departments, Human Resources, and County Administrator’s Office; and
WHEREAS, the selection committee interviewed several candidates, a background and reference checks were performed on the selected finalist; and
WHEREAS, the recommended candidate W. Paul Mazzeno has more than 25 years of experience working in the field of Public Safety and Emergency Management; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Mazzeno completed all requirements for certification; and
WHEREAS, the County Administrator, recommends the appointment of Mr. Mazzeno as manager of Lake County's Emergency Management Agency and to serve in the coordinator role as required by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that Mr. W. Paul Mazzeno be appointed at an annual salary of $135,000 with other terms and conditions of employment outlined in the Letter of Acceptance (attached hereto and made a part hereof); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said appointment of Mr. Mazzeno on November 14, 2017 is ratified.
