Joint resolution accepting a Direct Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Hepatitis C (HIV/HCV) Testing grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health and authorizing an emergency appropriation in the amount of $106,050.

 

Staff Summary

                     The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center has received a grant increase from the Illinois Department of Public Health in the amount of $106,050 to be used for program supplies, travel, and to offset staff salaries.

                     The $106,050 in additional grant funding was not previously appropriated because the grant resources were secured after the County’s adoption of the fiscal year (FY) 2017 budget.

                     The grant award will be for the period July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center has received a grant increase delivered by its Prevention Services Unit; and

 

WHEREAS, these dollars will provide a legitimate increase in services to Lake County with no impact on local taxes; and

 

WHEREAS, this grant amount totaling $106,050 was not previously appropriated, having been awarded after adoption of the fiscal year (FY) 2017 budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the proposed appropriation will fully offset costs associated with program supplies, travel, and staff salaries, thereby not requiring the expenditure of local tax revenue.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $106,050 is hereby authorized in the Health Department budget as identified on the listing of expense and revenue budget modifications attached hereto and made part hereof; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the revenue budgets as identified on the attached listing be modified as provided by increased funding from the following:

 

Illinois Department of Public Health - Direct HIV/HCV Testing, $106,050.
